"in order to avoid misunderstandings, jehovahs witnesses try to be careful about how they express themselves.

instead of saying, "the society teaches," many witnesses prefer to use such expressions as, "the bible says" or, "i understand the bible to teach.

Spike Tassel (Post 102): You're right, blood does NOT nourish. In fact, it infects with the disease(s) of its donor(s). No wonder that an increasing number of jurisdictions around the world refuse to transfuse blood. And no wonder that the Bible promises "Good heath to you", if we keep firm on our abstinence from blood. The Bible is a spiritual book, after all; its instructions are from the Happy God. When obeyed and submitted to, we are blessed with a good conscience which we cannot get another way.

Spike Tassel (Post 97): A blood transfusion is certainly NOT a form of "eating", I AGREE; it is basically liquid after all. That would make it a replacement for "drinking", I suggest.

Spike Tassel (Post 96): The Bible teaches that Jehovah had no beginning and has no end. The Bible teaches that Jesus was the first of all creation (so Jesus definitely had a beginning, even as the Word in heaven), and was not given immortality until his death, because otherwise his sacrifice would have been meaningless, and not bought any of us out of our sinful condition. The Bible does not teach that the holy spirit has a name. It seems to many that only a child who died before its official naming ceremony would be nameless. These are the facts as I see them right now.

Spike Tassel (Post 94): With all due respect and seriousness, it's not clear, even here on JWN, which "Society" might be meant — some live in Britain, some live in America, others live in other lands. Even if all of us lived in the same general area, each congregation's style is independent enough one from another so that at least some may (apparently) rightly view "Society" as what happened just to them and a few immediate acquaintances. There are, thus, many Societies (incorporated and otherwise) that any of us could have in mind, depending on our individual experience and take. It's best, then, to have a clear, consistent message, in case there's someone less informed than we think (or more, even, as far as that goes) observing whichever discussion is in question. As to a related matter, my name on this board is as follows: first name= Spike; last name= Tassel. My name/ identity is not up for debate, my points of discussion are.
